Curious story
It is believed that the air in the bath, which is heated with birch wood, is almost like in an operating room. No wonder birch tar has long been used to treat skin diseases. In the Middle Ages, when the plague epidemic carried away more than a third of the population in Europe, Russia and the regions where the bathhouse was traditionally heated "in black" with birch wood, the plague almost did not affect.
